Our Ride Package will be customized just for you! We'll discuss the length, distance and difficulty of ride that you would like to do and we will plan it and make it happen for you. This package includes round trip transportation to and from the trail, full suspension mountain bike and helmet rental, backpack with snacks and water, a basic first aid kit and a repair kit as well as a detailed route description and a keepsake Lake Tahoe trail map from Adventure Maps that's yours to take home with you.
We offer this package daily from 8 AM until 4 PM. You pick the time that you want to ride and we'll come pick you up and take you to the trail! When you finish the ride, we'll be right there to pick you up and take you back to your hotel. If you would like us to coordinate a local mountain biker to voluntarily ride along with you, just let us know and we can arrange it! There's no extra charge.
There are rides for all ability and fitness levels. The trails vary from paved beginner trails to single track dirt trails with plenty of technical terrain for expert riders and everything in between. Mr. Toad's Wild Ride, Powerline Trail and Kingsbury Bench are just a few of the many trail options. Please refer to the following skill & fitness level classification in order to help us determine the best trail for your ride.
Beginner: Entry level paved bike trail and single track dirt trails with rolling cross-country terrain. These trails are suitable for those who don't often ride mountain bikes and are able to be on bike for 2-3 hours.
Intermediate: Single track dirt trails with moderate ascents and descents. These trails are suitable for those who ride fairly often and are relatively fit and able to be on a bike for 3-5 hours.
Expert: Single track dirt trails with strenuous ascents and technical/rocky descents. These trails are suitable for those who ride often, are fit and are able to be on a bike for 4-7 hours.
Bikes: Our mountain bikes are full suspension (front and rear shocks) with disc brakes. We carry multiple frame and seat post sizes and will select a frame size based upon your height and/or request. We will make the necessary adjustment to the seat height for your maximum comfort and performance. Please let us know in advance if you will be bringing your own bike shoes and pedals.
Be sure to bring your cell phone - we will ask you to telephone us at a set point on the trail so that we can coordinate your return transportation. We suggest that you bring your camera along, as there will be plenty of opportunities for scenic photos along the way. Be sure to bring sunscreen and apply it often as the sun is quite strong at the high elevation in the Tahoe region.
We recommend comfortable clothing; shorts (padded cycling shorts or tights are ideal) or sweatpants/yoga pants/exercise pants with a comfortable t-shirt or tank top. We also suggest that you bring a sweatshirt, windbreaker or a jacket. Sneakers or similar comfortable and enclosed footwear are required. Sandals or open footwear is not permitted.
